Volunteering
We’re very fortunate to have a small team of volunteers who regularly visit Katherine & Griffiths House to spend time with our residents. Whenever they have a spare hour or two, they come along and join our lovely residents for a cup of tea and a chat, sometimes helping out with activities in the home and day trips to local attractions. Some of our residents don’t have family or friends who live close by and for them in particular, our volunteers make a huge difference.
As well as giving the generous gift of your time, there are many well documented health benefits to becoming a volunteer. Helping others for just one hour a week has been proven to promote a sense of wellbeing, increase confidence, improve physical health, combat loneliness and reduce anxiety.
Volunteering can also enable people to improve their social connections and enhance their sense of meaning and purpose.
If you would like to become a volunteer at Katherine & Griffiths House, please contact our administrative office by telephone or email and a member of our team will get in touch with you.
“I’ve been volunteering at Katherine & Griffiths House since early 2023. You’ll find me on Monday afternoons helping to run activities for the residents! I love the vibrant and kind atmosphere of the home.”
