Care
We understand that moving into a care home can be an emotional transition and that’s why we place such importance on making sure that your loved one feels at home, right from the start.
Every resident is recognised and valued for the person they are and we take the time to get to know each other. With a focus on comfort and wellbeing, our care is tailored to each individual. By understanding each resident’s hobbies and interests, favourite foods and regular routines, we’re able to create a familiar, stress-free environment that quickly feels like home.

Empowering our residents to share their ideas, suggest new initiatives and make decisions, helps to maximise their independence. One of the many differences that sets Katherine & Griffiths House apart from other care homes is that every member of our team agrees that our residents don’t live in our workplace, instead we work in their home – a mindset that places respect, dignity and privacy at the top of the agenda.
Short Term and Respite Care
We are pleased to be able to offer short term and respite care for those with low-level needs, if a room is available. Respite care can often be a gentle introduction to future long term care, or to offer carers a short break. To enquire about availability, please contact our administrative team.
Dementia Care
At Griffiths House, our purpose built eight-bedroom home with ample communal living space, provides specialist dementia care in a safe and nurturing environment. Each member of our dedicated team has significant experience caring for residents with dementia. We look beyond the condition and develop a supportive relationship with each individual, getting to know their life history and the person they were before they developed dementia, helping them to live a full and independent life as much as possible.
In a home from home environment that is calm and relaxing, we prioritise the quality of life for each of our residents, drawing on the knowledge of the resident’s family and friends to ensure that their individual care programme is uniquely tailored to their personality and ability, and that it reflects positively on their life before dementia. We empower residents to participate in developing their care plans and we involve them in decisions about their care, supporting them to make choices and retain their independence. We are equally dedicated to supporting the family through this journey as well as the resident, and we actively encourage family and friends to become part of this small community.
Each resident also has a bespoke activity programme, designed by our in-house activities coordinator, which aims to stimulate social interaction and help build purposeful relationships.
